The GTI-ATM3330e Bluetooth 5.3 module from GlobalScale integrates Atmosic Technologies’ energy-harvesting technology for battery-free designs. GlobalScale, an original design manufacturer (ODM), selected Atmosic’s ATM3330e SoC as the core silicon for its latest Bluetooth module, which provides 128 kbytes of RAM and a 64-MHz Arm Cortex-M33F microcontroller.
The GTI-ATM3330e module supports four harvesting methods: photovoltaic, motion, thermal, and RF. Its integrated power-management unit sources energy primarily from harvested sources and saves excess harvested energy to any storage element implemented into a customer design. The device also offers three energy storage configurations, including battery-free with capacitor storage, rechargeable battery, and standard battery.
With its radio receiver and radio transmitter consuming just 0.85 mA and 2.1 mA, respectively, the GTI-ATM3330e Bluetooth module can extend battery life in a broad range of IoT applications. To assist customers developing their IoT designs using the GTI-ATM3330e module, GlobalScale offers a development kit that supports such peripherals as an LTE-M1/GNSS module, temperature sensor, and 3-axis accelerometer.
The GTI-ATM3330e energy-harvesting Bluetooth 5.3 device costs $110 for a set of 10. The GTI-ATM3330e development kit with a narrowband IoT module costs $99. Both can be purchased directly from GlobalScale.
