Turning off Avast from System Tray
- Locate the system tray at the right side of the Taskbar and right-click on the Orange splash-like icon.
- Choose the Avast Shields Control option.
- Tap on the disable permanently option and confirm that you intend to disable all of the shields. Also, there is the option to disable Avast for a limited period of time like 10 minutes, 1 hour, etc. Choose what is best suited for you.
Turning off Avast through Settings
- Launch Avast and tap on the menu icon from the top right corner.
- From the menu window, choose the settings option.
- Head to the protection section and choose Core Shields.
- Enable the Core Shields option and you can view a green tick on it.
- Now, choose from the different options like 10 minutes, 1 hour, until the next restart, etc. We chose the Stop Indefinitely option.
Thus, Avast would be disabled on your computer.
